Cristina A. Brinkerhoff, MA
Cristina A. Brinkerhoff is Research Associate I at the Institute for Community Health.
Before joining ICH, Cristina worked as an NIH Research Fellow at Boston University and UMass Boston on an exploratory study about the implication of transnationalism, culture and social networks for the health and behavior of Brazilian and Dominican immigrants. She has also worked for the Mauricio Gaston Institute, UMass Boston’s Center for Survey Research, and the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation in Rio de Janeiro. Cristina is currently a board member at the Brazilian Workers Center.
Cristina’s interests include minority and immigrant health disparities, health literacy, immigration policies and community based participatory research. At ICH, Cristina’s projects include IHR Healthy ME, CHA Residency Redesign, Gold Innovation Fellowship, IMPACT – Just Beginnings and MAPS HIV Prevention Project.
Cristina graduated from UMass Boston with a BA in Sociology in 2011 and an MA in Applied Sociology in 2014. She is fluent in Portuguese.
