Daniel Derman, BS
Daniel Derman is a Research Associate I at the Institute for Community Health.
Daniel received his B.S. in Multi-Disciplinary Anthropology from Appalachian State University with a concentration in indigenous political movements in Latin America. During his undergraduate studies, Daniel served as a research assistant in an ethnographic study exploring the economic conditions of Hispanic immigrants in Western North Carolina. Following graduation, Daniel continued his work among North Carolina’s Hispanic immigrant community as a farmworker outreach specialist in eastern North Carolina, and has maintained a deep commitment to immigrants’ rights advocacy.
Currently, Daniel works evaluating projects including teen pregnancy prevention, violence prevention, strategic health planning, and international health.
