Community Needs Assessment for Health Care and Rehabilitation Services of Vermont

Client: Health Care and Rehabilitation Services of Vermont
Topic Area: Behavioral health and substance use
Service: Assessment and Planning

Health Care and Rehabilitation Services of Vermont (HCRS), a mental health and substance use care provider, engaged the Institute for Community Health to conduct the needs assessment related to behavioral health needs and gaps in their service areas to support their preparation for Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) certification. As part of the needs assessment ICH is reviewing existing reports and data on substance use and mental health in HCRS service areas, conducting 6 listening sessions with community members and providers, and fielding a survey to understand community and HCRS client needs around substance use and mental health care. The overall goal of the needs assessment will be to collect data on community needs that are not currently, or fully represented in existing data, including needs and perspectives from communities that experience disproportionate barriers to care.
