We are delighted to announce that Dr. Kiame Mahaniah is joining ICH’s Board of Directors. Dr. Mahaniah is the CEO of Lynn Community Health Center (LCHC) and has extensive leadership experience in community-based healthcare settings. He is an expert in office-based opioid treatment (OBOT) models and has guided the implementation and development of OBOT programs at many community health centers in Massachusetts.

Dr. Mahaniah has been the CEO of LCHC since 2017, following his previous role as Chief Medical Officer at LCHC. Prior to that he was Chief Medical Officer at North Shore Community Health, Inc. for two years, coming into that role after a decade at Greater Lawrence Family Health Center.  Throughout his career he has focused on the integration of primary care, teaching and substance use disorder treatment.  He specifically relocated to Lynn to directly work on creating programs to fight the opioid addiction crisis and to foster his love of mentoring others. Dr. Mahaniah spent most of his childhood in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Geneva, Switzerland before attending college (Haverford) and medical school (Jefferson Medical College) in the United States.

As CEO of a social justice institution in a gateway city, his professional interests lie in addressing the pain and indignities of poverty, developing leaders to serve in the fight against inequity and providing excellent service to often ignored individuals and communities.

Please join us in welcoming Dr. Mahaniah to the ICH Board!
