Jordan Kron, MPH

1. How would you describe your role at ICH?

At ICH, I am a Research Associate. I have a wide range of responsibilities, including developing data collection tools, collecting and analyzing data, and drafting reports and presentations for the dissemination of findings. I also communicate with our partners, schedule meetings, create agendas, facilitate meetings, and notetake. On top of my project work, I am a member of multiple committees at ICH, where I serve as a staff representative on the Board’s Strategic Planning sub-committee, manage our social media and website, work on co-creating a DEIA action plan, and work with others to develop staff training materials. Every day is different at ICH, which is part of what I love about my job!

2. What is your educational background?

I attended Tufts University and graduated with double majors in Community Health and Psychology in 2021. While working toward my undergraduate degree, I was taking courses towards a Masters in Public Health (MPH) at the Tufts School of Medicine, where I graduated in 2022 with a concentration in Health Service, Management, and Policy. I am currently taking courses part-time at Bentley University, where I am attaining a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in Strategic Health Care Management.

3. What was your career path before coming to ICH?

Before coming to ICH, I had an Applied Learning Experience (ALE) with the Brigham and Women’s Hospital’s (BWH) Center for Community Health and Health Equity, where I assisted with analyzing qualitative data for the 2021 BWH Needs and Assets Assessment.

I was also an intern with the City of Medford Health Department’s Office of Prevention and Outreach. During this internship, I collected, analyzed, and coded qualitative data for a methamphetamine needs assessment, serving the Greater Boston area.

4. What made you decide to come to ICH?

I decided to come to ICH because I appreciate the focus on improving health equity through community-focused partnerships. I believe my previous experience with qualitative data collection, analysis, and reporting was a great fit for this position.

 5. What are some projects that you are working on right now?

The projects I am working on significantly vary! I am on projects with topics focused on: strategic planning, employee recruitment and attrition, the criminal justice system, medication for opioid use disorder, community advocacy and power building, and youth mental health.

 6. What are you most excited about for the future of ICH?

I am super excited that we are approaching ICH’s 25th anniversary! This is a great time to celebrate and reflect on all of the amazing work that ICH has done over the years to improve community health equity. It is also a great time to brainstorm and plan for the future of the organization.

 7. What are your hobbies or things you like to do for fun?

I love to learn about new topics. I am taking courses part time at Bentley University, with the goal of working towards an MBA with a concentration in Strategic Health Care Management. School work fills a lot of my time outside of work; however, I also love to spend time with my partner, Kellie, and my cat, Ollie.

 8. Do you have any plans for the holidays? Anything that you are looking forward to?

My family lives in South Florida, so I am planning on taking a trip this holiday season to visit them. My partner and I are also currently in the middle of moving, so we have a lot to look forward to in the near future!
