ICH as a living classroom for students from Boston University School of Public Health

by |

ICH is a nonprofit consulting firm with four key service areas: planning and assessment, participatory evaluation, applied research, and data services. As our organization grows and evolves, we are dedicated to remaining one of the leaders in the region providing utilization-focused data services. In addition, ICH has begun working with grant-making entities to improve and demonstrate their investments’ impacts and provide technical assistance to grantees. As an organization, we are building new partnerships in these two areas, in addition to our other three areas, to improve the health of our communities.

ICH is committed to supporting the development of the public health workforce. In partnership with Boston University School of Public Health, ICH has been a practicum site for a team of students enrolled in Strategic Management of Healthcare Organizations. To gain real-world experience in organizational management and growth, BU students learned about ICH, specifically the areas of data services and support for grant-making. Using concepts that they learned in class, the students developed a growth plan for ICH’s data services and grant-making portfolios. In addition to completing an assessment of opportunities and challenges, the BU students identified potential clients outside of traditional ICH partners. The students made strategic recommendations for new markets to expand into and enhanced internal processes.
