PROJECT

Implementation evaluation of the CenteringPregnancy model

Client

CenteringHealthcare Institute

From Jan 2025-Jan 2026, ICH conducted an implementation evaluation of the Centering Pregnancy (CP) model, which provides group prenatal care in clinical settings across the US. ICH worked with the Centering Healthcare Institute (CHI) to build understanding of the implementation of the CP model, utilizing the Consolidated Framework for Implementation Research (CFIR). ICH’s evaluation aimed to build understanding of the critical core elements of the program, to support program scalability, replication, and sustainability. This included fidelity to the model, as well as adaptations to meet the needs of different settings, healthcare systems, and communities. ICH utilized a participatory, mixed methods approach to evaluate the CP model, including activities such as surveys with accredited and non-accredited sites, and qualitative interviews with program staff and key stakeholders. The results from the evaluation were shared with CHI to support the expansion and scaling of the Centering Pregnancy model, adapting to the varied settings and needs of different patient populations.
