Evaluating Programs Addressing the Opioid Epidemic: RIZE MA grant evaluation

Client: RIZE Massachusetts
Topic Areas: Behavioral health and substance use; Grant-making programs; Healthcare delivery systems
Service: Participatory Evaluation

RIZE Massachusetts is a private sector initiative to build a fund for addressing the opioid epidemic in Massachusetts. ICH is the evaluator for RIZE Massachusetts’ inaugural grant program, which is providing $2.1 million to collaborations among medical, behavioral, and community-based organizations with the goal of improving access to treatment for the populations at highest risk for overdose and death. The evaluation includes logic modeling and qualitative interviews with each funded program, as well as a quantitative assessment of medical record data using a care continuum framework. ICH will also work with RIZE Massachusetts to plan and facilitate a series of Learning Communities throughout the grant period. ICH’s evaluation will help each grantee identify gaps and opportunities for improvement, and will provide meaningful information about program impact to RIZE Massachusetts and its funders.

ICH will be sharing a poster about the RIZE evaluation at the 2021 American Society of Addiction Medicine Virtual Conference. Click here to see the poster and accompanying handout.
