ICH staff will present findings and lessons learned from two evaluation projects at the American Evaluation Association (AEA) Conference in October, Evaluation 2013: Evaluation Practice in the Early 21st Century.

Nazmim Bhuiya will present two components of ICH’s evaluation work with The Massachusetts Alliance on Teen Pregnancy (MATP). Nazmim will discuss the participatory evaluation approach ICH utilizes to engage youth in the evaluation of MATP’s Youth First Initiative (for more information on ICH’s role in this initiative, read the project team’s blog post). Nazmim will also participate in a panel discussion where she will present a collaborative learning model that MATP used with clinic staff in two MA communities to improve the quality of adolescent reproductive health services.

Jeff Desmarais will present lessons learned from designing and implementing an evaluation of IMPACT: ability, an abuse prevention program for people with cognitive disabilities.  Jeff will describe how ICH and partners identified appropriate evaluation tools and techniques for this unique population.

Our former Director of Evaluation, Elisa Friedman, will discuss how evaluators can support non-profit hospitals in conducting community health needs assessments. Elisa will draw from ICH’s work with  Hallmark Health System and Jordan Hospital as examples of effective evaluator-hospital collaboration.
