The Readying Educators And Developing Young Children for Great Outcomes (READYGO) program aimed to improve the equity and quality of early education and care in Massachusetts through designing and testing a professional development opportunity on trauma-informed care for educators, providing support and coaching, and implementing an advocacy agenda for policy change on the state level. ICH was the evaluator for this project funded by the Health Foundation of Central Massachusetts and implemented by the Massachusetts Association for Community Action (MASSCAP). The evaluation study used a quasi-experimental design to compare outcomes between intervention and comparison sites. ICH worked with stakeholders to develop the evaluation logic model, research plan, and data collection tools and systems. We developed and implemented a survey for early childhood staff in the intervention and comparison groups, facilitated focus groups with teachers and parents, and analyzed these data. We also analyzed secondary data from classrooms and child-level assessments to understand the efficacy of the professional development opportunity in improving educator, child, and classroom-level outcomes.
