Sharon Touw is a Research Associate II at the Institute for Community Health.
Sharon’s background is in epidemiology and immigrant health. Her research interests include food policy, chronic disease prevention and management, and immigrants’ experiences with clinical care.
Sharon’s interest in public health emerged while working as a Research Assistant for the Boston Healing Landscape Project, where she worked on several projects related to immigrant health and culturally/religiously diverse healing practices. Before entering the public health field, she worked for several non-profit organizations in the Boston area. At ICH, Sharon works on a wide range of projects including hospital-based quality improvement interventions, early childhood education, parenting programs and substance abuse prevention.
Sharon received her MPH from Boston University and her BA in Spanish from the University of Massachusetts-Boston.
